Kirk Michael Church in the 70'sThis site is dedicated to my memories of Kirk Michael, in the Isle of Man, West side of the island.

I lived there from 1976 - 1980. The village at the time was a small one, and even then I can safely say " I remember when these were all fields" as a lot more house's went up, in the front, behind and to the sides of our house. I lived then at Skerrisdale, Station Road.

I was 6 at the time I moved there, and had a wonderous time as a kid there. There seemed to be lots of places to play. The old railway station at the time was in a state of collapse (before it became a fire station), and there were still lots of trackside memorobilia still left there, including the old crossing gates.

Glen Wylinn! What a time I used to have down there. At the time when I moved there, it was mostly over grown, but I thought it was wonderous, espicially when I found out that it was from an earler fun land! There was remains of the old play ground, old boating lake, and even an old pagoda.

The school even then was in it's orginal form, and while I was there, went to stage 2 with an extension being built on, and I believe is now in it's stage 3.

On this site you will find old film clips, ranging from the TT Races in 1977, through the village,   The 1977 jubilee held through the village and at the school. Clips of Glen Wyllin and what the viaduct used to look like in the good old days.

I recently contacted a old friend of Mine, Robert Hallas who I used to go to school with there, and he has kindly done some of the designs on this site for me, and also contributed some of the articles for me.
